Abstract

Contemporary realities pose exceptionally serious challenges to society, testing such fundamental concepts as public morality, the resilience of state institutions, commitment to patriotic ideals, and the level of national cohesion in the face of existential threats to statehood. Ukraine currently exists in precisely such a complex and tense environment, demonstrating remarkable resilience against the Russian occupier and justifiably taking pride in the courage, self-sacrifice, and professionalism of its defenders. At the same time, armed conflicts in the modern world have become a persistent and widespread phenomenon. In this context, the issue of military education of future service members becomes increasingly relevant, as its effectiveness directly affects border security, territorial integrity, and the maintenance of peace and stability within society. This article examines the essence and specific characteristics of military education under conditions of contemporary armed conflicts, hybrid warfare, asymmetric threats, information-psychological confrontation, and high‑technology combat operations. Emphasis is placed on modern approaches to military education aimed at renewing its content and enhancing forms and methods of pedagogical implementation. Based on an analysis of key challenges facing military education today, major pedagogical problems are identified, and prospective directions for their prevention and mitigation are proposed. Particular attention is devoted to integrating national‑patriotic, moral‑psychological, legal, and professional components within the educational process of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a dominant approach to shaping the professional soldier.
