TEACHING INTERNSHIP IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AS AN IMPORTANT STAGE IN THE TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS IN THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS INDUSTRY

Abstract

The need to find ways to optimize the practical training of specialists in the physical culture and sports industry is associated with the existing contradiction between the requirements for the professional activity of physical education teachers in higher education institutions and the level of their readiness for such activity. The purpose of scientific paper in this context is to analyze the importance of teaching internship in physical education and sports in higher education institutions for the training of future physical education teachers, the conditions for its successful implementation and professional effectiveness. The paper defines the general features of such teaching internship, the requirements for its basic institution, the functions of teaching internship and the principles on which it should be based, its role in the professional development of a future teacher, primarily in the acquisition of important professional competencies, the skills that student interns should master as a result of the internship, the organizational and methodological conditions for its successful implementation, and the specifics of the work of the basic department in this regard. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the student’s preparatory work that must be completed before the internship, and the algorithm of student’s specific actions, which constitute the direct content of the internship. Using his own practical experience, the author explores the methods of students’ teaching work during internship, focusing on the importance of using a person-oriented approach and modern digital technologies, the rules and features of maintaining reporting documentation, primarily diaries and internship reports, as well as the final control and evaluation of the practical teaching work of the studentintern, including the significance of certain parameters of such evaluation. The paper notes that under martial law, many higher education institutions cannot ensure the full immersion of students in the real educational process and their acquisition of full-fledged practical experience of teaching work in real conditions of the educational environment, therefore, an asynchronous distance mode of internship is forced to be introduced. In addition, the author identifies and analyzes the most important factors that determine the effectiveness of students’ teaching internship in physical education and sports in higher education institutions.
