Peer-review process
Manuscript Submission and Initial Review
Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the requirements established by the journal’s Editorial Board. All submitted materials undergo an initial editorial screening by the Editor-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board to ensure compliance with the journal’s editorial policy, ethical standards, and technical formatting requirements.
Based on the results of the initial review, a manuscript may be:
accepted for peer review;
returned to the author for revision;
rejected in the case of significant non-compliance with the journal’s requirements.
Authors are notified by email about the receipt of the manuscript and all editorial decisions.
Peer Review Process
The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
Manuscripts are reviewed by independent external experts in the relevant field who hold academic degrees, have publications in the subject area, and have no conflicts of interest with the authors.
Evaluation Criteria
Manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:
scientific novelty and relevance of the topic;
alignment with the journal’s scope and thematic sections;
methodological rigor and validity of results;
clarity of structure and soundness of conclusions;
compliance with academic integrity principles and ethical standards;
quality of academic language and formatting.
Review Timeline and Documentation
The average peer review period ranges from 2 to 4 weeks. Review results are documented using standardized review forms and retained by the editorial office. If necessary, authors receive anonymized reviewer comments.
Editorial Decisions
Based on the peer review results, the Editorial Board makes one of the following decisions:
accept the manuscript for publication without changes;
accept the manuscript for publication with minor editorial revisions;
return the manuscript to the author for major revision with the option of resubmission;
reject the manuscript if it does not comply with the journal’s editorial policy, ethical standards, or scholarly requirements.
The final decision on publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the peer review outcomes.
Each issue of the scientific journal is recommended for publication by the Academic Council of the State Higher Educational Institution “Uzhhorod National University.”
