INTELLECTUALIZATION OF ACTIVITIES IN THE SYSTEM OF ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The article examines the place and significance of intellectualization of activities within the enterprise development system. Intellectualization is considered as a process of qualitative transformation of enterprise activities associated with the increasing role of knowledge, competencies, information, intellectual labor, innovation, and technologies in the formulation and implementation of managerial and business decisions. It is emphasized that intellectualization is not limited to the accumulation of intangible resources or the introduction of digital technologies but is determined by an enterprise’s ability to integrate intellectual capabilities into its internal processes and transform them into development outcomes. The concepts of intellectualization of activities, intellectual capital, and enterprise digitalization are distinguished. The main areas of intellectualization are systematized, including human, managerial, technological, information and analytical, innovative, and organizational dimensions. The relationship between these areas and labor productivity, resource efficiency, the quality of managerial decision-making, innovation capacity, and enterprise adaptability is identified. A set of indicators that can be used to assess the manifestations of intellectualization and relate them to enterprise development parameters is outlined. A mechanism for transforming intellectualization into enterprise development is proposed, encompassing the formation of intellectual resources, their integration into business processes, the transformation of process characteristics, the emergence of primary effects, and subsequent changes in enterprise development parameters. A distinction between resource-based and result-oriented intellectualization is proposed. Resource-based intellectualization characterizes the accumulation of knowledge, competencies, technological capabilities, and information resources, whereas result-oriented intellectualization reflects the enterprise’s ability to transform its accumulated potential into organizational, technological, innovative, and economic outcomes. It is determined that the impact of intellectualization on enterprise development is indirect and depends on the alignment of human, technological, information and analytical, organizational, and innovative capabilities, as well as on the enterprise’s ability to ensure their productive use.
