Materials and Methods. In the dynamic analysis of injury indicators among the pediatric population (0–17 years), absolute data on the number of hospitalized children with various types of injuries were extracted from reports of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Form No. 20 (annual hospital reporting form). During the study, calculations of ratio indicators, relative values, absolute growth, and growth rates were performed. Results. An increase in the number of hospitalizations among the pediatric population (0–17 years) due to all nosological entities of injuries was established from 2021 to 2024 both in Ukraine and in the Lviv region: due to intracranial injuries (ICD-10 code S06) in Ukraine, an increase was observed in 2021, 2023, and 2024 by +6.11%, +14.45%, and +9.38%, respectively, and in the Lviv region in 2021, 2022, and 2024 by +4.89%, +57.49%, and +29.21%, respectively; due to injuries to intrathoracic, intra-abdominal, and pelvic organs (S26, S27, S36, S37), an increase in the number of hospitalized patients was noted in Ukraine in 2024, and in the Lviv region from 2019 to 2023; due to fractures of the skull, spine, trunk bones, and fractures in multiple body parts (S02, S12, S22, S32, T02, T08), the number of hospitalizations increased in 2023–2024 both in Ukraine and in the Lviv region. The study demonstrated a decrease in injury rates in 2020 among the pediatric population, both nationwide in Ukraine and in the Lviv region, may be associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (the transition to online learning reduced the risk of children sustaining road traffic injuries on their way to and from school, and also reduced active games and other types of activities involving large groups of children and adolescents, etc.). At the same time, the increase in injury rates from 2021 to 2024 across all studied nosological forms may be explained by the impact of the full-scale Russian invasion, which resulted in an increase in various types of injuries among both the adult and pediatric populations throughout Ukraine and its regions. The study established a prevalence of mortality rates in the Lviv region among the pediatric population due to intracranial injuries (S06) in 2015, 2018–2021, and 2023, and due to injuries to other internal organs, the thoracic cavity, abdominal cavity, and pelvis in 2018–2019 and 2020–2021 compared with nationwide indicators. Conclusions. The study results substantiate the need for nationwide and regional programs to prevent injuries and improve the quality of trauma care provided to the pediatric population.
