The study included 30 patients who underwent abdominal surgery due to peptic ulcer disease and who were diagnosed with osteochondrosis of the spine complicated by protrusions also aged 44 to 53 years.
The aim: to scientifically substantiate and improve a comprehensive rehabilitation program for patients who have undergone surgery due to peptic ulcer disease and osteochondrosis of the spine complicated by protrusions in the sanatorium.
Materials and methods. All patients underwent ultrasound examination of the gallbladder and pancreas. The functional state of the stomach was studied by intragastric pH-metry, which was performed using a two-electrode pH probe at the level of the body and antrum, the state of the pancreas was studied using FAZ – fractional study of amylase by Zheltvay (1969). Assessment of spinal mobility in the lumbar spine was studied from the initial position lying on the abdomen. The human rises in his arms as much as his spine allows.
Results. As a result of the conducted complex rehabilitation measures, along with the improvement of the clinical picture, there was an improvement of laboratory research methods. The pH level of the body of the stomach in patients significantly decreased from 3.04±0.36 to 2.13±0.22 (P<0.01), in the antrum of the stomach the pH level decreased from 5.44±0.23 to 3,89±0.26 (P<0.05). A repeated fractional study of amylase showed that in patients the indicators of pancreatic enzyme function on an empty stomach and during digestion increased by 21 (63.0%). The flexibility of the spine has improved. The amplitude of movements in the examined patients increased from 42.0° to 65.0°. The average values were 58.1±4.3°, respectively.
Conclusions. In patients with combined pathology, our studies have found that the reduction of the functional state of the spine, digestive system are interrelated and increase the destructive effect on the state of the whole organism. Comprehensive sanatorium rehabilitation has a positive effect on the objective indicators of the digestive system, as well as the functional state of the spine, increases the effectiveness of rehabilitation and improves the psycho-emotional state of patients.
