RESEARCH ON THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL FACTORS ON THE STATE OF MENTAL HEALTH OF THE ADULT POPULATION

Abstract

Purpose: The objective is to study the influence of social factors on the state of mental health of the adult population
Materials and methods. A sociological survey of 342 people who do not consider themselves sick was conducted to identify premorbid conditions and their risk factors, which were established by calculating the odds ratio.
Results. The results of the study show a significant prevalence of anxiety and depression among the adult population, together more than 60%, which are caused by social factors and life events of an individual: injury or illness, changes in the health status of family members, excessive concern about their own health, sexual problems, dismissal from work, regardless of reason, loneliness, constant fear of tomorrow.
Conclusions. The prevalence of anxiety-depressive syndrome among the adult population is 62,8±4,75%, the leading risk factors are changes in the state of personal health or family members (odds ratio OR = 10,8, 95% CI: 8,3-12,4; p<0,05), dismissal from work regardless of the reason (odds ratio OR = 8,13, 95% CI: 5,13-10,1; p<0,05), loneliness (odds ratio OR = 4,84, 95% CI: 3,83-5,12; p<0,05).
