PECULIARITIES OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE STRESS LEVEL IN THE WORKING POPULATION AND THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY OF UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose of the work – to establish peculiarities of the relationship between the level of the psychoemotional state in the working population of Ukraine and economic development of the country in different periods within 1992-2019.
Materials and methods. In carrying out the work, indicators of economic development of Ukraine were used: gross domestic product (GDP), gross domestic product (at purchasing power parity – PPP), per capita – (GDPcapita), change in GDP of PPP in the current period relative to the last year in percent, and also quotient of the standardized mortality of men by the same indicator for women in the age range 15-19, 20-24, ..., 60-64 years as an indicator of psycho-emotional state (stress level). The research results were analyzed using factor analysis.
Results. The increase in the level of stress in the working population of Ukraine is associated with the action of numerous harmful socio-political factors. One of the powerful operating components of these factors is the economic factor, the characteristics of which are GDP and its derivatives. It is quite obvious that this factor has a different effect on people of different ages. This is due to the fact that occupational and social burden on persons of different ages, in principle, cannot be equivalent. This thesis is well proven by the characteristics of the stress load on persons of different ages.
Conclusions. The analysis showed the presence of a clear dependence of the level of psycho-emotional stress in the working population in a wide range of ages. An exception is the age range 15-19 years, where no such dependence was found. The rest of the age groups are in a complex way connected with the economic state of the country. Of these, three age intervals were identified, the relationship of which with economic indicators is of a different nature, which significantly affects the dynamics of their psycho-emotional stress in the period from 1992 to 2019. These data can be taken into account when developing a strategy for the development of the Ukrainian economy in the future.
