DEVELOPMENT OF THE UKRAINIAN-LANGUAGE VERSION OF THE TEAM EFFECTIVENESS QUESTIONNAIRE

Abstract

The aim of the study was to provide an informational component of management decisions to assess the effectiveness of interdisciplinary teams in the provision of medical care to patients.
Materials and methods: the original «Team Effectiveness Questionnaire» developed by London Leadership Academy, National Health Service was used; 119 completed questionnaires of participants in pilot studies; scientific sources (20 items); the following methods were used: logical-structural, comparative analysis; expert assessments; sociological; medical and statistical.
Results: a Ukrainian-language version of the «Team effectiveness questionnaire» was developed in several stages: two independent direct translations from English into Ukrainian were made; synthesis of two translations and formation of a preliminary final version; two back translations; expert assessment of the final version; two pilot studies. The substantive, external, discriminant validity (t-test value > 1.75 for each statement of the questionnaire with a critical value of 1.75 at n ≥ 25) and internal consistency (Alpha-Cronbach coefficient α = 0.993) of statements in the Ukrainian version of the questionnaire were proved.
Conclusions: the developed Ukrainian-language version of the «Team effectiveness questionnaire» can be used as a tool for providing information to managers in health care institutions in Ukraine.
