Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is one of the most common gastrointestinal diseases, accounting for about 8–10% of all digestive diseases. It should be noted that the vast majority of patients with CP (approximately 25% of patients) 10 years after the diagnosis of CP are forced to leave their professional activities or become disabled.
The aim of the study was to determine the factors influencing the formation of CP in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 in the Transcarpathian region.
Materials and methods. 64 patients with CP and DM type 2 were examined. Patients with CP were divided into 2 groups: the first group included 62 patients with type 1 diabetes, and the second group consisted of 64 patients with type 2 diabetes. All examined patients underwent general clinical studies.
Results. Among those examined for CP and DM type 2, urban residents predominated (59.4% of patients), while rural residents accounted for 40.6% – p<0.05. It was established that patients with CP and DM type 2, persons with higher education and secondary special education are determined with almost the same frequency (40.6% and 42.2%, respectively). A high percentage of patients with CP and DM type 2 were found? who don’t have a permanent job (34.4%). Among residents of rural areas of Transcarpathian region was preveled patients with CP and DM type 2 with overweight (38.5%) and normal weight (23.1%) – p<0.05, and among patients living in cities of Transcarpathian region was dominated patients with obese of the I degree (42.1% – p<0.01), obesity II degree and overweight (21.1%).
Conclusions. At patients with CP and DM type 2 more often occurs in subjects who don’t have a permanent job, but have higher education. CP in DM type 2 is more often found in subjects living in the cities of the Transcarpathian region, who are overweight and obese of varying severity.
