THE ASSESSMENT OF THE POTENTIAL NEED FOR REHABILITATION SERVICES OF PATIENTS AFTER URGENT SURGERY ON THE ABDOMINAL CAVITY IN TRANSCARPATHIAN REGION

The purpose: to determine the annual estimated need for rehabilitation services for those patients, residents of the Transcarpathian region, who have undergone emergency surgery intervention on the abdominal cavity due to acute organ diseases.
Materials and methods. The object of the study is the system of rehabilitation care for the group of patients of surgical hospitals who have undergone emergency surgery on the abdominal organs cavity. The subject of the research is the amount of total need of rehabilitation services for patients who have undergone emergency surgery intervention on the abdominal organs. In the study there were used such methods as bibliosemantic, content analysis of medical and technological documents on standardization of medical care; statistical, structural and the method of logical analysis.
Results. In all the developed standards and clinical protocols it has been provided to conduct several rehabilitation measures taken from the arsenal of physical therapy directly in surgical hospitals in the early post-operative period. In Transcarpathian region every year between 2100 to 2320 of patients, who have undergone emergency surgical interventions for acute diseases on the abdominal organs cavities, require rehabilitation care. Between 750 to 900 of them are children aged from 0 to 17 years old. While planning the resource provision (both personnel and material-technical one) of complex rehabilitation programmes for the above mentioned group of patients it is necessary to focus on the estimated indicator in order to meet the needs of the patients between 2213-2220 years in total. At the same time, it must be kept in mind that a significant part of this category of patient (about 64%) are likely to need a bare set of rehabilitation measures.
Conclusions. All the patients, who have undergone emergency surgery intervention for acute diseases of the abdominal cavity, without any exceptions, need rehabilitation care at the early postoperative period. In general, annually in the Transcarpathian region between 2100 to 2320 patients that have undergone emergency surgery for acute illness of abdominal organs need rehabilitation care.
