LEVELS OF ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION OF THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE ANTITERRORIST OPERATION

Abstract

Purpose. To determine the levels of anxiety and depression of participants in the antiterrorist operation in accordance with their state of mobilization.
Materials and methods. The study was conducted on the basis of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital for the Disabled of the War and the Kremenchug Regional Hospital for veterans of the war. The study involved 189 patients who participated in the antiterrorist operation.
Results. According to the results of Spielberger-Khanin’s questionnaire, 63 (33.5%), 73 (38.8%) and 73 (38.7%) were moderate.
Conclusions. Significant differences were found between the level of depression and anxiety among volunteers mobilized on the Mississippi scale: volunteers had a post-traumatic stress disorder of 73.81±5.5 versus mobilized 62.52±2.9 (p=0.050).
It is determined that, at the Mississippi scale, soldiers who live at the same level of post-traumatic stress disorder are 72.87±53 versus those who live with the family 62.32±2.5 (p=0.049). According to Beka’s depression scale, those who live alone are 11.57±2.0 versus those who live with the family 6.71±0.8 (p=0.01).
According to the Spielberger-Khanin scale of self-esteem of situational anxiety, the difference is as follows: 41.63±1.6 for lone against 36.29±1.1 for those who live with the family (p=0.012), according to personal anxiety, the difference is as follows: 50.72±1.2 in single versus 45.25±0.9 people living with the family (p=0.002).
