RISK FACTORS: METHODS OF DETERMINATION, ASSESSMENT, USE IN HEALTH CARE

The purpose of the research was the systemic aspects of the scientific consideration of risk factors for the health and life of people, their measurement, evaluation and use in current health care practice, when insurance medicine was established in Ukraine.
Materials and methods. We used our own developments of the system analysis adapted to medicine, as well as materials on the dynamics of the health of the population of Ukraine and its individual regions over 30 years.
Results. Health and life risks have been obtained as leading dynamic integral indicators of public health suitable for use in health care practice for assessing both people’s own health and their living environment, in particular, protecting, protecting and developing people’s health, planning and evaluating relevant health programs, sufficiency and efficiency of using the resources planned for their implementation.
Conclusions. Risk factors are the basis for measuring the integral (both full and private, by status) insurance risks to people’s health and building the resource bases of their medical insurance system and, in general, insurance medicine in Ukraine.
