PROGNOSTICATION OF GESTATIONAL DIABETES DEVELOPMENT PROBABILITY

Purpose – to develop a model for prognostication of gestational diabetes development probability.
Materials and methods. We have analyzed risk factors of gestational diabetes in 54 women and 50 pregnant with risk factors of the disease without the verification of this diagnosis.
Results. For prognostication of gestational diabetes we have used 7 most prognostically significant signs: BMI>25 kg/m2; excessive increase of body weight during pregnancy; big fetus, spontaneous abortions. perinatal loss, DM type 2 in first degree relatives in history; age >30 years.
We have established a clear link between the sum of points and probability of gestational diabetes development. So, in case the sum of points is 1.9 – the probability is around 0%; from 2.0 to 4.2 – 30%; from 4.3 to 5.8 – 50%; from 5.9 to 7.3 – 70%; from 7.4 to 9.6 – 90%; more than 9.7 points – more than 90%.
Conclusions. This model allows to prognosticate the probability of the disease development with high sensitivity and specificity that indicates the possibility of their application in diagnostic and treatment process.
