THE ASPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT CORRECTION FOR STUDENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY DURING HANDICRAFT LESSONS

Abstract

The article dwells upon particular issues relevant to development correction for students with intellectual disability during handicraft lessons. The necessity to form important skills and abilities for students with intellectual disability, such as realizing the task, activity layout, self-control and self-evaluation, has been emphasized. Types of self-control and layout stages have been considered. It should be noted that the teacher should conduct correction work for students with intellectual disability, within the aim to correct their development, systematically and purposefully. Besides covering the issues of intellectual sphere correction, the article deals with possibility to conduct handicraft lessons in order to stimulate the development of general and fine motor skills. We should mention that following modern art means are relevant to apply: beads, natural materials, specific paper craft, florists design, pysanky (Easter eggs) coloring, wickerwork.
