A SINGING COMPONENT IN THE STRUCTURE OF CULTURAL COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the issue of forming cultural competence of students of educational institutions, the relevance of which is determined by the requirements of modern normative documents on education. The emphasis is on changing paradigmatic goals, conceptual approaches in education in the direction of its reformation, which determined, among others, the priority of the culturological approach. The competence, personal and developmental potential of the educational major “Art” is substantiated for the purpose of forming cultural competence of students, which is considered a systemic, integrated formation, to which a singing component belongs. The content, tasks of students’ singing activity, methodological principles of its organization are revealed. The importance of Ukrainian song heritage as a national cultural treasure in the formation of students’ cultural competence is emphasized. It is emphasized that in accordance with the state educational standards, the formation of key competencies should be carried out by students mastering basic knowledge, practical skills and value attitudes within each educational field. The last component of the educational process (value attitudes) was ignored during the period of dominance of the knowledge-oriented educational paradigm. The priority of the cultural approach in modern education involves the active involvement of students in domestic and world cultural heritage, which concentrates the eternal emotional and spiritual experience of humanity, which is a reflection of universal human, moral and ethical, worldview, value orientations that are learned through perception, emotional and sensory experience, and comprehension. This is the cultural influence of the children’s song repertoire, the diversity of genres, themes, emotional and figurative content of which allows students to experience a wide range of emotions and sensations, and to become enriched, spiritually filled through them, acquiring ideas and beliefs about the life values by which a person should live. And in this the singing activity of students as a component of cultural competence is unique.
