Abstract

Modern pedagogical science rethinks traditional approaches to child development, integrating knowledge from various fields to form a holistic educational space. Particular attention in the context of preschool education is focused on speech development, since language is a key tool for cognition, socialization, and self-expression In the older preschool age, when the child actively experiments with speech structures and expands the sphere of communicative possibilities, the formation of vocabulary becomes a priority task. The question of choosing lexical layers that will not only enrich speech, but also contribute to the development of cognitive, emotional and social competencies of a preschool child remains relevant.As a specific segment of language, sports vocabulary appears as a promising tool for achieving the above goals, because it combines concepts related to motor activity, game rules, instruction, team interaction and health. This is what makes sports vocabulary an important part of a child’s everyday experience. The use of sports terms in communication not only expands the vocabulary, but also forms in preschool children an idea of a healthy lifestyle, develops spatial imagination, logical thinking and the ability to act according to an algorithm. In addition, sports as a socio-cultural phenomenon create a natural context for improving speech skills through game situations, emotional involvement and the desire of children to imitate the behavior of adults.The relevance of scientific research is due to the need to create innovative pedagogical technologies that would combine motor activity with speech didactic exercises, which corresponds to the activity and competence approaches in education.
