INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INTO THE SYSTEM OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The article examines the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the system of professional training of teaching staff, particularly in the context of higher education reform in Ukraine and global trends in digital transformation. The main stages of artificial intelligence development are highlighted – from A. Turing’s concept of the «thinking machine» to the emergence of generative models capable of creating texts, images, and multimedia content. It is emphasized that artificial intelligence is becoming not only a technological tool but also a pedagogical partner that promotes personalized learning, the development of critical thinking, creativity, and autonomy among higher education students.The author presents a model of mechanisms for integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the professional training of future teachers, which includes five key components: organization of training courses, seminars, and workshops on the ethical and practical use of artificial intelligence; improvement of the institutional infrastructure of higher education institutions through the creation of artificial intelligence competence centers; partnership between universities, IT companies, and research centers to implement innovative educational solutions; updating educational programs by including disciplines aimed at developing artificial intelligence competence; and the development of ethical regulations that allow the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools by students while maintaining academic integrity. The study concludes that the integration of artificial intelligence is a strategic direction in the development of education. It does not aim to replace the teacher but to enhance the efficiency of their work, expand pedagogical opportunities, and foster a culture of responsible use of digital technologies.
