FEATURES OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN OF PRIMARY SCHOOL AGE

The purpose of the research: to study and assess the level of physical development of primary school children.
Materials and methods. The research was conducted with primary school students. The average age of children was 7.7 years. A total of 41 children were examined, including 23 boys and 18 girls. Research methods – theoretical analysis and generalization of literature sources, methods of somatoscopy and anthropometry, analysis of the results and their mathematical processing.
Results. In the course of the research the analysis of indicators of physical development of boys and girls studying in 2nd and 3rd grades of Uzhhorod specialized school of I-III degrees № 5 with in-depth study of foreign languages of Uzhhorod city council of Transcarpathian region. Our research has confirmed that younger students have positive changes every year, which help to assess the level of their physical development.
Conclusions. Аssessment of the physical development of students who participated in the study was conducted using the index method. Thus, no significant differences were registered between the obtained results of boys and girls. However, boys of primary school age have a higher level of strength index compared to girls. The results of the study of the peculiarities of physical development of 2nd and 3rd grade students show that with age, boys and girls change in physical development. Analysis of the results of the study showed that low values of strength index, Skibinsky index and hypoxia index indicate the need to include in physical education a variety of breathing exercises that would increase vital capacity, improve respiratory arrest on expiration and exhalation, and strength exercises.
