On the issue of master’s degree training in specialty “Public Health” in Ukraine

Abstract

Goal of research is to study and analyze the compliance of educational (educational-and-scientific) master’s degree training programs in specialty “public health” with the State Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 229 "Public Health" for the second (master’s) level of higher education. Materials and methods. Materials: educational programs for master’s degree in public health in the following state higher educational institutions: Zhytomyr Medical Institute, Poltava Medical University, Ternopil National Medical University, Kharkiv National Medical University, Uzhhorod National University and the State Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 229 "Public Health" for the second (master’s) level of higher education. Methods: bibliosemantic, of content analysis, of structural-and-logical analysis. Results and their discussion. In general, the analyzed educational programs are aimed at training masters of public health in accordance with the State Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 229 "Public Health" for the second (master’s) level of higher education. Conclusions. Taking into account the regular review of educational programs, to prepare methodological recommendations for Higher Educational Institutions on the development (improvement) of educational programs in specialty “public health” and to conduct training for guarantors and leaders of groups for the development of educational programs on the methodology of developing educational programs and global challenges to public health in Ukraine and on training specialists who will be able to overcome (minimize) the negative consequences of existing global challenges.
