Dynamics of Western corn rootworm as invasive species in the northern part of the Khust district of Transcarpathia

Paper is devoted to the study of state and dynamics of important invasive beetles’ species Western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera Le Conte, 1868). Investigation was conducted during 2013-2016 years in the Khust district of Zakarpattia region. The ecological and biological characteristics of this species were investigated, and trophic relationships determined. The invasive species during mass reproduction are able to cause significant damage to crops. Individual methodics for reducing the quantity and invasion prevention is recommended for each pest combine chemical, agronomic and biological methods of crop protection.
