INTEGRATING INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES TO ENHANCE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The relevance of the research lies in the need to integrate various innovative technologies into the training of specialists capable of approaching professional tasks creatively, possessing foreign language proficiency, thinking critically and creatively, demonstrating mobility, and implementing innovations in practice. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the effectiveness of integrating different types of innovative technologies in the process of teaching English to master’s students – future engineers. To achieve this aim, the following objectives are defined: to determine the essence of integration and integrated learning; to substantiate the options for integrating innovative technologies into the process of teaching the educational component “Foreign language for Business Communication” to master’s students of higher technical education institutions. In the course of the research, integration is understood as the process of mutual interpenetration of parts and the creation of a whole, leading to a unified product and a new level of systemic integrity of the objects involved. The study analyses operational–activity integration, which presupposes the combination of various innovative technologies in teaching English to future master’s students in engineering. Examples of applying the integration of innovative technologies in English language teaching are proposed, including tandem technology, case-based and project-based learning; information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, and interactive cooperative learning technologies; various types of interactive learning technologies; as well as technologies for assessing learning outcomes (rating, testing, portfolio technologies, and information and communication technologies through the use of online platforms and chatbots).
