Abstract

Disruption of the hepatobiliary system due to cholecystectomy causes certain symptoms with which patients seek medical care. Quite often, patients experience pain, dyspepsia, which is manifested by nausea, flatulence and diarrhea, which in turn leads to psychological discomfort and increased anxiety, which affects the patient's activity and participation, social relationships and quality of life. The aim of the study was to assess the dynamics of impaired body function and structure in patients after cholecystectomy according to the ICF qualifier under the influence of a physical rehabilitation program. The study involved 46 people (12 men and 34 women), the age of the subjects ranged on average from 25 to 60 years. The subjects were randomly divided into two groups: the control group (CG), whose members took only medications (n=20), and the main group (MG), who were engaged in hydrokinesitherapy and received medication (n=26). The assessment took into account the biopsychosocial model based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). In accordance with the ICF, the b domain assessed digestive system dysfunction; the s domain assessed lesions of the digestive system structure. Physical rehabilitation was carried out using hydrokinesiotherapy for 3 months 2 times a week with moderate intensity and duration of 40 minutes. The study proved that the program of physical rehabilitation with the use of hydrokinesiotherapy has a positive dynamic of functioning in the domains of the ICF and improves the activity and participation of patients in everyday life (p<0,001, p<0,01) in contrast to conventional medical treatment.
